Coming Clean

It has come to my attention that some bloggers pretend to be perfect.  And, because I’m all about you, the reader, I will let you in on my little secret.

I’m.

Not.

And I have an illustration to prove it.

Welcome to the saga of the Jumbo Raisin Cookie. We start with the complete and utter failure that is img 01. Notice the white plastic where the crumbs are laid to rest (resembles a garbage bag, no?)

Then we have for you the thin-as-sand, and not quite as yummy failure #2. The result of more wet ingredients, eggs, and guar gum.

And we come, of course to the UNDERCOOKED, and GOOEY effort #3.  We call him “Pudgy”.

See?  I have the guts to post my failures as well as my successes.

The FOURTH effort is posted in my “success” column here.

  1. Love this! You’re so right, foodie bloggahs pretend to be perfect, and so many of us mess up even recipes we’ve done before. So fun that you put this up.

  2. Bravo! wonderful failures. I love that you did this. yes, it does seem as though we all appear to be perfect with our blogs and beautiful photos. But in order to have successes, we also have to have failures.
    thanks again,
    sarah

  3. This whole post made me laugh! Thank you for posting this, though I’m sorry you can’t be perfect like this amazing baker (kidding! you should’ve seen my weighs-a-half-ton brick of a cake I once tried to make!) :)

thanks! I stole the idea from a mom-blog that I read. She posts the most hilarious parenting mishaps! (I’m sure I could fill a blog with mine too. But we’ll stick with recipes for now.

Wow, judging from your site, you must be a busy lady Sarah! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

    Take care,

Is that a challenge? We should have a contest – who has evidence of their worst moments! Although I think I’ve not had the where-with-all to take pics most of the time.
    thanks for visiting!

So many disasters, so little time..

Forgetting Xanthan is the most common challenger in Victoria’s kitchen…..
