Do you eat oatmeal?

It has been a year since Mike tried the gluten-free oatmeal.  The first time he tried it, he had 2/3 of a cup, cooked, and it made him sick for several weeks.  It was either that or a coincidental accidental contamination.  Hmmmm.

So, do you eat the certified “gluten free” oatmeal?

If you do, here’s a recipe to enjoy(this one is for my kids, hubby isn’t too eager to try oats again any time soon…)

  • 3/4 ice cream bucket of quick cooking oats – what is that?  Like 3 liters or so?
  • 1/3 cup cinnamon
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp salt
  • Store in air tight container (the ice cream pail).  I’m not sure how long this will last – ours is gone within a couple of weeks.  I’m guessing 2 months at least.

To use:

  1. Measure 2/3 cup of pre-mixed cinnamon raisin oatmeal
  2. Measure 1 cup water.
  3. Cook in microwave on high 1 minute.
  4. Add milk, enjoy!
