Wouldn’t you know it? The ONE time I actually follow a recipe, it doesn’t work! So three batches later, we have this:

So here’s the how to, although I may try another version soon:
1 cup cornstarch + 2/3 cup cold water,stirred
2 cups salt + 2/3 cup hot water – bring to boil
- bring the salt and water to a boil.
- Add the cornstarch mixture.
- Stir, cooking on low until the whole thing has changed to a translucent color. Ya gonna have to use your muscles for this one! It takes between 7 – 10 minutes.
