Chocolate Molding

I went to a girlfriends last week for a chocolate demonstration.  We were going to learn to melt and mold chocolate.  And we were supposed to do it all – proper like.  This means I had to sneak into the kitchen to do my taste testing.  Because.  Um.  I just had to.

Here’s the how to:

1.  Buy chocolate molds (These were a couple dollars at Michaels Craft Store in the Wilton’s section.)

2.  Melt chocolate discs (purchased at Michaels, Wilton brand, gluten free,(in Canada) ) in microwave.  Each color in its own microwavable bowl.

3.  Paint the inside of the chocolate molds with the fun colors that you’ve chosen.  Seriously.  Just paint ‘em – like with kids’ paint brushes. Okay, maybe clean kids paint brushes.

4.  Between each color wait for the chocolate to ‘dry’ and then do the next color.  We were  impatient and used the fridge.

5.  When the final color has dried, then pour the milk chocolate base level with the top of the mold.

6.  Insert straw if it is a lollipop mold, like above.  Cool.

Here are some of the ones that went to school last week:

Did I mention they’re YUMMY?  And Gluten Free?  Enjoy!
