Hello all,

A quick update first – it appears the family is not so eager to try this new oil-free, sugar-free, salt-free vegan diet as I am. No surprises there. What I am disappointed in is my own cooking ability.  I had known it would take some adjustment, and they’ve been patiently accommodating me and eating lentils, tofu, soups (they were aweful – I admit it!), etc. And so far, there are only a handful of recipes that have really been a hit.

  • tacos / burritos
  • Spaghetti (if I add some sugar)
  • Green Smoothie
  • Pizza
  • avocado chocolate pudding (hit with two youngest)
  • Cocoa-nut bites
  • Goji Berry Bars
  • pumpkin pie
  • apple cranberry compote
  • hummus (hit with oldest daughter)

Notice the distinct lack of salads and soups? Ugg! So I continue my path of learning to cook in this new way!

Announcement – HELP!

Next – up. SAGF will be accepting guest posts to bring you information on the latest blogs, some discussion/editorial pieces and some new recipes that others have had success with. I’ll keep cooking and when I have a good hit with my family, it will go up!
