Call it a midlife crisis if you will

Change is in the air at my home.  If you follow regularly you’ll notice that we’ve been silent since around June.  I became ill and needed some time off work and blogging.  Part of my recovery has been a swift and complete turn around in my self-care and nutrition.  This is the nice way of saying I’m now officially a tree-hugging, granola – eating (but not really granola – too many grains – and sugar – and oil) almost-vegan.

Yep. VEGAN.  Those weirdos. Of course as luck would have it, I now find myself almost entirely vegan. Murphy’s law!

So why?  Well… have a look at this new about page – describing in detail why I am making the choices I am.  And for whom I’m making the changes (kids? hubby?)

  1. Hi Cathy,
Just read your post this am on “Eat to Live”. First of all, congratulations on your success!! I actually bought and read the ‘Eat to Live’ book this past spring and am a pretty big supporter of Dr. Fuhrmann’s ideas. Just over a year ago, I made a lifestyle change and went gluten free. Unfortunately, my family is not completely on board with me yet….gradually I hope to change them. My hubby has to much Mennonite blood in him to give up breads and pastries. For myself, it has made a huge difference in my health and overall nutrition. I am thankful to have a close friend who also made the same changes as myself. The moral support has been incredible! I pray these changes will continue to improve yours and your family’s life. Blessings!! Jenn

    • Sorry – I just saw this comment! I’m so glad to have found Dr. Fuhrman’s book! Once Mike read it, he’s on board with it. We’ll see how it plays out, how strict we are with it, etc. but even some of the suggestions if implemented will have a big impact I think!
      See you!
      Cathy

  2. Sorry about your illness, I just discovered your site, as my grandson (2yrs. old) was recently diagnosed with celiacs disease, I was looking for gluten free recipes, will you still be posting gluten free recipes? I hope you are feeling better.
