Isn’t it beautiful?
This is the recipe:
- 2 cups masa
- 1 1/3 cups water
- 1 tsp salt
- squashed in a cut-up sandwich bag with my new tortilla press
- cooked in dry hot skillet 30 seconds, flip, 30 sec, flip, 30 sec. Done.
How easy is that? I say “ha!” to the $4 dry corn tortillas at the supermarket. A 3 kg bag of masa cost just under $3 at Canadian Superstore… all in all, we have a healthy, and really inexpensive easy wrap that even the kids love.
Stuffings that we use:
- tuna salad
- cream cheese & cucumber, rolled up, and cut in slices, then laid on the side to look like sushi, sometimes with raisin smiley faces on them.
- margy & cheese slices for the kids
- pb & j
- leftover turkey, mayo, cream cheese, or cranberry sauce.
