Steveston Farmer’s Market Gluten Free Finds

Found some great gluten free baking at the Steveston Farmer’s Market today.

High Crow Bakery ( High Crow Gluten Free Foods …. took us a bit to figure this out, but the site is all Flash, so it won’t show up in your iPhone or iPad) is great, and said they’ll be there all summer:

- Gluten Free Millet and Rice Bread ($7)

- Gluten Free Lemon Loaf ($3.50)

– Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies ($7 for 1 dozen regular or 6 large)

… we’ve had High Crow’s baking before, and it’s all very tasty. Even after a few years as a Celiac now, I still balk at the prices, but it’s great to be able to enjoy this caliber of baking again.

The pièce de résistance of the trip had to be the French made baking booth . . .

Gluten Free Macarons ($10 for 6), not to be confused with macaroons are available, and French made baking describes them as “a sweet confectionary made of two almond meringue discs stuck together with a generous layer of butter cream, jam or ganache filling.”.

Perfect for the gluten free gourmand in your home!

We also picked up some naturally gluten free beef from Ryder Lake’s booth. They offer locally raised, free-range and hormone-free beef. The taste is significantly better, and their ground beef is less than half the price of the free-range available at our local Save-On . . .

Now it’s off to enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend with the girls . . . Have a great one
