This is based on a recipe by Dr. Fuhrman and found in his Eat to Live book. I insist on calling it “Broccoli Buns” so the expectations are low. But my girls love it, and have changed the name to pizza!
Ingredients
- whole wheat pita pockets, halved
- OR brown rice wraps
- crushed tomatoes or no-salt tomato sauce
- Italiano, or oregano & basil & garlic powder
- broccoli, finely chopped
- onions, thinly sliced
- mushrooms, thinly sliced
- roasted red pepper
- pineapple (we're Canadian - we love pineapple on pizza!)
Instructions
- Lay out pizza shells, top with sauce. And sprinkle with herbs.
- Layer a thick topping of the finely chopped broccoli (as you would with cheese)
- Layer toppings as desired.
- Bake 350 10min until heated through.
